Dr. Serra opened Wood River Animal Hospital in 1992, with a vision to provide quality General Practice and Internal Medicine specialty services in a relaxed rural setting. He is a native of Westerly, Rhode Island and a 1977 graduate of the University of Rhode Island.
He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1983, then completed a Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Internship at Purdue University in 1984, and a Residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine at Tufts University in 1986. He became board certified in Internal Medicine by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (www.acvim.org) in 1990. Dr. Serra’s clinical interests are in Gastroenterology,
Endocrinology, and Hematology. He accepts Internal Medicine referrals and second opinion appointments in addition to practicing general
medicine.
