Dr. Boy grew up in Southeastern New Hampshire and received a BA in Microbiology and MS in Animal Science from the University of New Hampshire in Durham. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1987, then completed a Large Animal Surgery Internship at Cornell University in 1988, and a Residency in Large Animal Internal Medicine at University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1990.
Joe Impellizeri DVM, DACVIM (Oncology), MRCVS of Veterinary Oncology Services, is a 1994 graduate of Cornell University who became a Diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, subspecialty of Oncology in 2005.
Dr. Clark DVM DACVS Diplomate ACVS of Veterinary Surgical Specialists, Inc. is a board certified travelling surgeon who provides his expert services to veterinary hospitals in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
Courtney started work at Wood River in May of 2007 as a lead Receptionist. She has been working full time as our Practice Manager since October of 2012, and assists the doctors, technicians, and reception staff throughout each day.
Sheri has worked here for 14 years on and off! She starts her day at home with her four dogs and four cats, all have been rescues. During the school year, she works as a technician fulltime and is happy to do pet sitting for people when they go on vacation.
Ashley started working as a full-time Technician in November of 2016. She was born and raised in Southern Virginia and moved to Rhode Island 14 years ago. Her love for animals has transitioned throughout her life and she is happy to finally be able to live up to her dream of being an animal advocate and nurse at Wood River Animal Hospital.
Kianna started as an intern at WRAH in May of 2016, and shortly after was hired as a part time Veterinary Technician. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Animal and Veterinary science at the University of Rhode Island with her ultimate goal to become a Veterinarian. In her spare time, she enjoys being with friends and family as well as her horse and dog.
Emily started here as an intern during her senior year of high school in 2017. When her internship ended, she became a part time Veterinary Nurse. She is also a full-time student at the University of Rhode Island pursuing degree in Animal and Veterinary Science. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her friends, family and two dogs Snoopy and Danni.
Taylor started working at WRAH in August of 2017 as a full time Veterinary Technician. He graduated from New England Institute of Technology with a degree in Computer Programming and has worked in his family dog-grooming business for the past 13 years. In the future, he hopes to own his own canine behavioral training facility and in his free time, he enjoys playing video games with his 2 dogs (and helping with any IT problems within WRAH.)
Sabrina is originally from New York and began working as a technician at WRAH in April of 2018 after learning about the hospital while taking Dr. Fischer’s class at URI. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science and Technology and hopes to use that to further her career in the field of animal care. When Sabrina is not at the hospital she likes to go hiking and discover more of what Rhode Island has to offer!
Kirstyn began working at WRAH in March of 2019 as a part-time veterinary technician. She is currently a full-time student at the University of Rhode Island where she is pursuing a degree in both Biology and Animal Veterinary Science. In the future she hopes to attend vet school with the ultimate goal of becoming a large animal veterinarian. In her free time she enjoys spending her time outdoors at the barn with her two dogs.
Sydney is a California resident who started working here during the summer of 2016 and has come back to work each summer since! She is attending UC Davis in Northern California and plans to go to vet school after completing her degree in animal science. In her free time she loves to go to the beach and play with her two dogs.

Allicia started at WRAH in March of 2018. She graduated Rhode Island College with a Medical Assisting Certification and is our full time receptionist, assisting our clients with any needs they may have. She aspires to train as a technician here in the future to further her love of animals. She spends her spare time with her husband, two children and her pets and loves to fish!
